With COVID came a spike in new and returning golfers to the course. Newly retired, Sheilagh Wilson decided to get out and ramp up her game with friends and family. Finding fun accessories was a challenge for her, with dark and drab colors filling the shelves, nothing she would consider purchasing. Sheilagh, along with her friends were looking for fun accessories and items that were functional, made using quality materials, and items that could go from the course to the clubhouse.
Having worked in apparel and footwear development and sourcing for 20+ years, Sheilagh took advantage of her large network of manufacturing peers and made a few calls. Shortly after, she began developing new products that were fun and functional and which led her to create an entire line. Birdie Balou did a soft launch in August 2021 at a trade show in Houston and headed to the PGA Show in January of 2022. The rest is history.
Sheilagh's inspiration and purpose are to create products that are fun and can be used by those who love to golf, play tennis, play pickleball, and go to the beach. Quality products that appeal to those looking to add personality to their game.
